  We had a great day learning to surf with Terry! My partner and I have never surfed before but with his patience and knowledge, he had us up on the board by the end of the lesson! Smooth as a Kat ;) Highly recommend!

  Terry was great! We have never surfed before and were a bit nervous but his experience and humour got us through it all! It was private lessons, got picked up from our accomodation and drove together to a bay with moderate waves. (Great for beginners). We had a fun day and caught lots of waves! Thank you Terry!

  Terry gave me a private lesson and it was really great he taught me heaps in the time we had and was great in instructing and guiding through the lesson.

  Terry and his crew are the real deal. Great local surfing knowledge and taking you to a spot only the locals know about. He was great with my teenage boys, and even I got up surfing ( not bad for mum!). I would definitely recommend this surf school for those wanting a genuine Aussie surf experience

  Had a great day with Terry! He picked us up from our hostel and drove us 30 minutes to a quiet beach with good waves for beginners like us. By the end of the session, we were all standing on our board! Definitely recommend! “It was the mutts nuts!!”

  We took a private lesson with Dave, it was so much fun we came back the next day for another lesson. He gave us great tips and we progressed substantially, he took us to a great spot with perfect waves for learning. We will be back for another lesson next time we are in Byron.

  We hired Dave to teach our 14 year old twins how to surf and they had a ball. Dave was very friendly and patient, we had tried an instructor previously but with Dave we went to a great spot and they got up on their first wave. Dave was very generous with his time and made it really easy for then to get started. He was awesome, I recommend Koolkatz for anyone getting started in surfing.

  Amazing experience. He took me to the perfect spot for beginners and we have a really nice afternoon. He was really patient and very clear in the teachings. Thank you so much for such a great moment

  Always wanted to try surfing and during our recent vacation in Byron Bay, my partner surprised me with a private surf lesson and she couldn’t picked a better surf school. Tez is a great guy with heaps of experience and knowledge. And he really knows to pass this knowledge on. After a short time I was able to get on the board and ride some waves in a safe environment. I would recommend everyone who wants to learn surfing a lesson with Tez. Go for the private as you get all the attention and way more waves to catch.
